Beside the Dammed River Returns

Year's Best Science FictionBeside the Dammed River is by far my most successful story to date, and today sees it released for the third time. Today is also the first time I’ve had a story in the Year’s Best Science Fiction anthology so I hope you’ll indulge me if I’m feeling a little smug.

I never expected to make the Year’s Best at all, and now I find myself sharing pages with authors I’ve looked up to for years. I was deeply honoured when Gardner Dozois told me he was considering Beside the Dammed River and struck speechless when he told me he planned to include it.
